Brief Description

The Department of Higher Education and Training in South Africa developed a Policy Framework in 2020 to address Gender-Based Violence (GBV) in the Post-School Education and Training (PSET) system. This includes protocols and directives outlining how to tackle various GBV challenges and the involvement of stakeholders. Over the past five years, the department has adopted a zero-tolerance policy on sexual harassment, appointed a Sexual Harassment Advisor, and ensured swift investigation and dismissal of guilty individuals in reported cases.
